Iowa State University has partnered with John Hancock Life Insurance Co. to offer Long Term Care Insurance to Iowa State employees and their spouses/domestic partners and extended family.  Who can apply?

  • All actively-at-work Iowa State University, Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School, Iowa School for the Deaf, and the Iowa Board of Regents employees on U.S. payroll (Institutional Officials, Faculty, Professional and Scientific Staff, Supervisory and Non-Supervisory Merit, Affiliate and Post Doctoral Students), working at least 20 hours per week and appointed for 9 months or longer.
  • Retirees
  • Spouses/qualified domestic partners of eligible employees and retirees
  • Parents and parents-in-law of eligible employees and retirees
  • Grandparents and grandparents-in-law of eligible employees
  • Adult children of eligible employees and retirees and of their spouses/qualified domestic partners. Also includes spouses of eligible adult children.

Jane & Jerilyn will detail: ISU's medical and dental policies and costs prior to age 65, and those after coverage by Medicare; medical insurance costs and other benefits received during or at the time of retirement, including sick leave and vacation payout; changeover of the life insurance policy, and what happens to disability when you declare retirement. Ann will cover current university retirement programs, including Phased Retirement, the cash policy, general guidelines and timelines for planning retirement and step-by-step retirement procedures, including those you may need to consider six, two, and one month prior to retirement.
