12+ Leadership Program

One of the greatest values in any program designed to help build skills and competencies is the Iowa State University 12+ Leadership Program. Organizations are calling for employees at all levels to take on responsibilities that were previously reserved only for upper-level managers. This has changed the nature of managerial work. To help guide you through these changes, we have developed a program incorporating the book "Successful Manager's Handbook" 7th edition by Gebelein, Nelson-Neuhaus, Skube, Lee, Stevens, Hellervik and Davis.

While it is designed for supervisors and managers, it is also for aspiring leaders. 12+ is a comprehensive series of workshops designed to help build the tactical day-to-day skills and competencies they need to work effectively with team members, peers, customers, and employees. Various content experts are our instructors and provide real life issues and strategies. This 16 course program will cover topics from communication to managing performance, and many others in between. Participants who have completed this program over the years have found the information to be invaluable, personally rewarding, and a great way to network with others across campus.

This program is affordably priced at $610 which includes the cost of materials and equipment. This program requires a participant to complete a minimum of twelve workshops within a 2-year period to obtain certification.
