Affirmative Action

All Iowa State University advertisements must have either of the following statements included within the advertisement:

Advertisement Format

Advertisements should contain:

  • Job Title
  • 6 digit vacancy ID #
  • Instructions for applying, such as "Apply online at www.iastatejobs.com"
  • Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action statement

Sample Ads

Minimum Advertising Periods
The first day of an advertisement is when it appears on the Iowa State University Employment Opportunities website.

Faculty Positions (regular and adjunct appointments, Senior Clinician and Senior Lecturer) All openings for tenure-track and adjunct faculty positions are to be announced and advertised nationally for a minimum of 30 calendar days.
Clinician and Lecturer positions Advertise locally/regionally for a minimum of 15 calendar days.
Continuous P&S positions (Pay Grade 17 and above) Must be advertised nationally for a minimum of 30 calendar days.
Continuous P&S positions (below Pay Grade 17) and P&S term positions Must be advertised locally/regionally for a minimum of 15 calendar days.
Merit Must be advertised for a minimum of 10 calendar days.
Must be advertised for a minimum of 5 working days for AFSCME contract transfer. Advertisement is done concurrently.
