Leadership at Any Level

Is a series of five, two-hour professional development sessions focused on enhancing an individual’s leadership potential. Since leadership is not only a function of position, any individual at any level can demonstrate leadership and influence the behavior of others. Therefore, any ISU employee interested in enhancing their leadership potential can participate.

The series is designed to be delivered in five, two-hour sessions over a three month period. Each session will be developed to include some content, some practical application, and some time for dialogue and reflection.  It is also the intent to provide some time for reflection and practice between sessions. However, the design is flexible enough to adjust to another structure, such as three four-hour sessions or two short days or any other combination that would allow the content and concepts to be experienced.

The Content Covered:

The sessions will focus on exploring;

  1. the impact attitudes have on leadership performance,
  2. the role of emotional intelligence in leadership development,
  3. the process of group development,
  4. the responsibilities and practices of effective leadership,
  5. dealing with difficult behaviors and situations, and
  6. the tools for addressing change effectively.
  7. The wellbeing of leaders.
